Day 3 of our Madagascar trip:

Good news: After being fed every day at our clinic, Princio and Fidelia had put on enough weight over the past weeks to be operated yesterday. Our team organized Dr. Fernand a trip to come to Fort Dauphin to do the operation. There was no complications and both babies are doing well. They will continue coming to the clinic every day for checkups, desinfection and feeding until the wound has healed off completely. Well done our team on site and thank you Dr. Fernand for your time and great work!

Yesterday a mum with her 9 month old baby came to ask us for help. Her son, Princio was born with a cleft palate. Because the mother didn’t the money to have him treated straight after birth, his jaw is now so deformed that he can barely eat. The only nutrition he can take is in liquid form and even this is becoming harder and harder. Now, Princio only weighs 4.3kg and urgently needs an operation. Unfortunatly there is no doctor in Fort Dauphin that could opérate him so we are now also looking for someone in the capital Antananarivo and the neighbour islands. We hope to find a doctor that can help him as son as possible. Please help us with your donation to finance Princio’s operation/treatment that will hopefully save his life. Thank you for your support!
Thank you to our La Vision Team on site for organizing this event. The kids from the orphanage, the people from the handicaped home, all helpers and their families and everyone invited had a great time. The food was deliciuos and the kids enjoyed their goodies under the Christmas tree. What a great start to a hopefully healthy and successful new year 2014.
